Andusia Exhibiting at NPAG’s First Waste and Sustainability Conference

Andusia are delighted to announce that they are exhibiting at NPAG’s (National Performance Advisory Group) first Waste and Sustainability Conference on 5th December 2019. The conference will take place at Drayton Manor Theme Park Hotel, near Tamworth in Staffordshire.

Andusia’s Hazardous Waste Manager, Fraser Cutting, will be exhibiting at the event, and on hand to answer your clinical waste questions throughut the day.

Further Brexit Delays

EU leaders have now agreed to extend the Brexit decision until 31st January 2020. Meaning the UK will not leave as planned on Thursday 31st October 2019.

The ‘flextension’ is named as such because the UK could leave before the January deadline if a deal is approved in Parliament.

Andusia Supports Anthesis Smart Waste Tracking Solution

Andusia is proud to be supporting global sustainability consultancy, Anthesis, in its development of Vastum, as part of a GOV TECH project to develop the UK’s first comprehensive smart waste tracking solution.

Andusia will be working closely with Anthesis during development, using their knowledge of the industry to help shape the new system, through intensive testing.

Andusia Discuss the Impending Dutch Tax

In July, the Dutch Government proposed a €32-per-tonne tax on the import of waste into the country as part of a package of measures to address climate change. Domestic waste sent to energy from waste (EfW) plants and landfills have been taxed in the Netherlands since 2015.

Currently, the Netherlands is the largest off-taker of UK waste in mainland Europe and took in a total of 1.3 million tonnes of material from the UK in 2018 alone. The Dutch Government estimates that as much as 25% of the waste processed in the country’s EfW plants comes from outside the country.
