Last December, the Swedish Government approved plans to introduce a 75Kr (£6) per tonne tax on waste imported from the UK, effective from 1st April 2020. This tax will rise by a further £3 in both 2021 and 2022.
The tax on waste that is burnt was passed by Riksdag (Swedish parliament) in order for Sweden to achieve national climate targets.
The UK Government’s tax on landfill increases year on year and 2020 is no different. Come April this year, the landfill tax will increase once more in line with the Retail Price Index. Come April 2020, landfill tax will increase from £91.35 to £94.15 per tonne.

Andusia’s Commercial Manager of nearly 7 years, Chris May, is due to lose his marathon ‘virginity’ in April.
Chris will be taking part in the London 2020 Marathon on Sunday 26th April. His ‘Chafing the Dream’ team are running for the Rooprai Spinal Trust.
