Welcome, Ella!

After a great start to 2022, Andusia are happy to report that the business is growing and we have welcomed a new Office Assistant, Ella Barrett.

Ella will also be studying for her AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) qualifications whilst at Andusia. AAT is a leading accounting body for accounting professionals. With more than 130,000 active members AAT boasts itself to be a prominent body for accounting professionals.

Malvern Reopens After Major Refit

Clinitek’s Malvern hazardous waste incinerator, based in Worcestershire, has been reopened this week after a significant investment, undergoing a major refit project. The plant, developed by Waste Energy Partners, started accepting waste in March 2021, and recently closed for plant improvements.

The future of UK EfW Development

This month, Tolvik released their eighth annual report, ‘2021 UK Energy from Waste Statistics’. The report reveals EfW capacity is expected to grow from 14.9Mt/year of residual waste processed in 2021 to 19.4Mt/yr by 2026 but goes on to highlight signs of a likely slowdown in the development of UK EfW plants.

The report looks at EfW plants in the pipeline, stating that a number of projects post financial close have since ‘ceased being progressed, been cancelled and/or have been refused consent’ and ‘fewer new projects are now being actively brought forward’.
